Grand Opening – August 12th
The Benson Gallery, located at the corner of 2 Newman Road and Rte 1A in Newbury, MA, celebrates its Grand Opening, Saturday, August 12th from 4pm to 7pm.
The Gallery was founded by owner John Seamans as a legacy gallery to celebrate the work of his mother, sculptor Beverly Benson Seamans, who was the granddaughter of seascape artist and illustrator John Prentiss Benson and the grand-niece of American impressionist artist Frank Weston Benson. An accomplished artist in her own right, Beverly Benson Seamans was well-known for her bronze and stone sculptures of animals, birds and children.
Also joining the grand opening celebration will be local artists Candy and Ernee Way, Sarah and Alan Ward, Anne Krupsky and Roger Cramer who will all be featuring their individual works including oil paintings, custom jewelry, photography, pottery and sculpture.
The Benson Gallery has a lovely outdoor sculpture garden where Beverly Seamans’ works can be viewed amidst the splendor of the surrounding landscape.
Free parking. Handicap accessible. Open Friday through Sunday 12pm – 6pm, or by appointment.
